Procedures for Handling Alleged Ethics Violations in Community Service

The Journal of Community Service is committed to maintaining academic integrity and publication ethics through the following procedures:

1. Receipt of Reports: Alleged violations may be reported by authors, reviewers, editors, community service partners, or the public, accompanied by supporting evidence.

2. Preliminary Review: The editor reviews the completeness of the report and the relevance of the evidence to determine how to proceed.

3. Clarification: The party against whom the allegation is made is given the opportunity to provide an explanation and supporting evidence.

4. Verification and Decision: The editor or an independent team reviews the evidence and makes a decision objectively and proportionately.

5. Follow-Up: Actions may include a request for revisions, rejection of the manuscript, corrections, retraction of the article, or reporting to the relevant institution, depending on the severity of the violation.

6. Confidentiality and Documentation: The entire process is conducted confidentially, fairly, and in a documented manner. Reporters acting in good faith are protected from retaliation.

Types of violations include plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, duplicate publication, authorship violations, conflicts of interest, and ethical violations against the public and community service partners. Each case is handled based on evidence, the principle of fairness, and applicable publication ethics policies.
