Abstract

This research is based on the problem of diagnosing stomach diseases that occur across various layers of society. The symptom that appear, such as discomfort in the stomach, nausea and vomiting, become a source of concern for individuals. Diagnosing stomach diseases becomes a complicated task due to the fact that the symptoms are often ambiguous and overlap with other diseases. This research only discusses stomach diseases such as gastritis, dyspepsia, stomach cancer, Gerd, gastroenteritis, gastroparesis and peptic ulcers. Therefore, we decided to create an expert system that can assist medical personnel at Puskesmas Seroja, Bekasi, West Java. An Expert system is a system that attempts to adopt human knowledge into a computer so that the computer can solve problems in a way similar to what expert would do. This system, designed using the java programming language and MySQL database, is expected to help all segments of society in determining the type of stomach diseases they are suffering from. To develop this expert system, we are using the forward chaining method. Forward chaining method that starts from known facts and uses rules to reach goals and conclusions. Therefore, the expert system built using the forward chaining method at Seroja Community Health Center can accurately diagnose and spread gastric diseases.
