Delayed detection of temperature and humidity changes in cold rooms due to non–real-time monitoring systems and lack of integrated early warning can reduce the quality of perishable products such as food, pharmaceuticals, and sensitive chemicals. This study aims to design and develop a prototype of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based cold room monitoring and early warning system. The method used is an experimental approach with prototype development, including system design, implementation, and testing stages. The system utilizes a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor integrated with an Arduino Uno R4 WiFi microcontroller to transmit real-time data to a cloud platform and send notifications via WhatsApp when thresholds are exceeded. The results show that the system achieves measurement errors below 5% and delivers notifications with an average response time of 20 seconds. Therefore, the proposed prototype has the potential to provide an efficient solution for maintaining stable storage conditions.
