The development of digital technology has increased exposure to blue light from electronic devices, which impacts eye health. Blue cut lenses have become a popular solution to address these negative effects. This study aims to comprehensively review scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of blue cut lenses on visual comfort and eye health. The research method used is a literature review. The literature study analyzed 20 journals from the PubMed, Google Scholar, and Cochrane databases published between 2020 and 2025. The study results show that the global prevalence of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) reaches 69%, with symptoms including eye fatigue, dry eyes, and headaches. Although scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of blue cut lenses remains controversial based on systematic reviews, users in Indonesia reported higher comfort levels (60.7-61.7%). Blue light has been proven to suppress melatonin production and disrupt the circadian rhythm. A comprehensive approach is needed to maintain eye health in the digital age, including the use of lenses that are appropriate for your needs, following the 20-20-20 rule, and regular eye check-ups by an eye care professional.
