Abstract

Star fruit is one of the largest commodity products in Dadalangu Village, Blitar Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The utilisation of star fruit that has not been maximised makes most of the star fruit harvest wasted and rot in vain. The existence of this community service activity is held to introduce innovative products that utilise the star fruit commodity into processed functional food in the form of yoghurt which is beneficial to the surrounding community in terms of health, knowledge, and economy. Community service activities are carried out by providing education in the presentation of material exposure, direct practice in order to provide guidance to PKK mothers, and questions and answers as an alternative to two-way communication. Material exposure, questions and answers, and direct practice can provide a clear picture to Family Welfare Empowerment (FEW) women about the benefits of star fruit, the benefits of yoghurt, and the procedure for processing star fruit into yoghurt. The questionnaire results show that there was a 100% increase in the skills of training participants in making yoghurt drinks, compared to before the training when 96% did not know how to make it. It is expected that the food processing of star fruit into yoghurt can be a solution to the existing star fruit problems and become a business opportunity to increase the value of economic income in Dadaplangu Village.
