PROJECT-BASED LEARNING IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH IN A PRIMARY MADRASAH TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

English language learning in higher education requires innovative approaches that enhance student engagement and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in the English course at the Primary Islamic Teacher Education (PGMI) Study Program of Institut Agama Islam Ngawi. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observations, interviews with lecturers and students, and analysis of learning documents such as the Semester Learning Plan and teaching modules. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of PjBL increases student participation, promotes collaboration, and provides more contextual learning experiences through project activities and English presentations. Future research is recommended to examine the effectiveness of PjBL in improving English language skills and integrating it with digital learning technologies.
